Born in 1975 in Wildeshausen, the trumpet player Holger Becker received his first piano lessons at the age of 6 years. But already at the age of 7 it became clear, that he will become a trumped player.
Holger Becker took his first trumpet lessons at the Music School of the district Oldenburg (Germany) by Frank Fischer, and later by Thomas Trumm (1st solo trumpet player at the Staatstheater Oldenburg).
In 1995, he studied classical trumpet at the University of the Arts in Bremen with Otto Sauter. From 1998 he studied at the Trumpet Academy Bremen. Among others, Thomas Stevens, Jim Thompson, Bo Nilsson, Kenji Tamiya and Rudi Köpp.
Scholarships led him as the 1st trumpet player to Japan (Toho Gakuen Orchestra Academy / Toyama) and the USA (Festival of Performing Arts / Idyllwild, California).
Even as a teenager, he was interested in jazz and played it a lot. As a result, Holger was a founding member of Swingin' Fireballs in 1999 ("Germany's Best Swing Jazzer" according to Hamburger Abendblatt).
He quickly became a demanded lead trumpeter with various jazz bands.
As a studio musician, he played on all the CDs of Swingin' Fireballs and additionally was a musician in numerous productions of German broadcasters and television productions, as well as for James Last.
The combination of a classical trumpeter and passionat jazz musician also brought him into the realm of musicals.
After gaining experience as a trumpet player at various opera houses and musical theaters, since 2007 Holger Becker plays the 1th trumpet at Operettenhaus Hamburg.
At Operettenhaus Hamburg he played the world premieres of „Ich war noch niemals in New York“ with music by Udo Jürgens und „Rocky“, the first musical to hit Broadway from Germany! p>
Currently Holger Becker plays in the Broadway production Aladdin in Hamburg p>
