Joachim Pliquett

Joachim Pliquett who studied under Prof. Reinhold Lösch in Mannheim, has been the principal solo trumpeter of the German Symphony Orchestra of Berlin since 1982. He has also developed intensive activity as a soloist documented by numerous radio, recording, and television productions.

After the rich trumpet repertoire of the baroque era, his special interest lies in works of the twentieth century. He performed with the Berlin and Stuttgart Bach-Collegium, the "Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Chamber Orchestra", with Hartmut Haenchen and Peter Schreier and the "Deutsche Kammer-Virtuosen Berlin".

Besides, there is an intensiv artistic relationship to the "Windsbacher Knabenchor" and Karl Friedrich Beringer.

In addition, he is an editor for the Edition Peters, Musikverlag Heinrichshofen and Edition Brendel. He also works as artistic director of the festival "Brandenburg Summer Concerts".

He works together with the master workshop of Max and Heinrich Thein in Bremen in the development of various new trumpet models.
